A fun math activity for any farm animal-loving kiddo!
Subitizing is the ability to recognize a small group of objects without counting. It is a fundamental skill in the development of number sense.
In this activity, encourage your child to match the eggs to the corresponding numbered hen house. Numbers are represented in 3 different ways (fingers, dice, and ten frames).
At first, a child may need to count the represented numbers on the eggs each time. However, the goal is for them to eventually be able to quickly recognize many of these groups without counting. We recommend laminating and adding velcro dots to attach and secure the eggs. Enjoy!
